Natural Dye Easter Eggs From The Kitchen

April 5, 2014

Easter eggs don't have to come from a box of tablets. There are plenty of things in your cupboard right now that make unusual and interesting colors/designs. The colors are more muted, but by no means boring when you use things like beet juice, onion peels, and turmeric. In our house, we take a birthday candle and draw on our eggs while they are still white, then the dye will not adhere to the waxy designs. It's a fun way to surprise the kids, if you write a secret message while they aren't looking. Make a family tradition this year and teach your kids a little about the magic of science. Enjoy!
